30 Οκτ 2023 · I discovered the Black Ice unit, and was struck by just how little info or reviews there were for it. What little that was out there was for the most part positive. It also appears that the unit is essentially their headphone amp repurposed as a DAC (correct me if I'm wrong here).
29 Σεπ 2020 · Black Ice is working on a new headphone Dac/Amp that I think is going to be a hit when released. It will have some features for tailoring the sound to your liking. I am somewhat old school and miss bass treble adjustments, I believe that will be implemented. Also some of Fosgate processing features.
30 Δεκ 2021 · Spent some time searching for any info, experience or reviews on the forum here on the "Black Ice Glass FX DSD Wifi DAC", but hadn't found anything. Wondered if anyone has experience with it, it's various modes (Wifi, USB,Toslink), and if anyone has done some testing and measurements on it?
2 Σεπ 2020 · But the Black Ice Glass FX Tube DAC DSD Wi-Fi can work wonderfully well even without an active preamp. For these reasons (frequency response, dynamics, and imaging), I consider the Black Ice Glass FX Tube DAC DSD Wi-Fi to be well worth its $799 asking price.
25 Απρ 2020 · The PS Audio DAC is safe, I find it to be better but it is surprisingly close. The DSD was one of the ten tested and it did not fare to well. I blame the cabling used if I had to guess a reason. With great cables it out performs this little gem.
12 Σεπ 2019 · Super Member. so i've been looking for a new DAC. I like my current Schiit Gungnir Multibit but I've been thinking about an upstairs unit and wanted to try a tube DAC so.. Jolida changed their name in 2018 it seems to "black ice" which is also a car air freshener scent..
