Black Seminole Scouts, also known as the Seminole Negro - Indian Scouts, or Seminole Scouts, were employed by the United States Army between 1870 and 1914. The unit included both Black Seminoles and some native Seminoles.

In August 1914, the last 16 Black Seminole scouts were mustered out of service. For over four decades, between 1872 and 1914, the scouts protected the West Texas frontier from marauding Apache and Comanche Indians. During this time, 26 major missions resulted in 12 battles.

11 Αυγ 2016 · At daybreak Bullis and the scouts rushed the camp and in the subsequent fight killed four of the raiders and captured an American Indian woman, a child and 21 horses. The Seminole-Negro Indian Scouts had suffered no casualties. Bullis, known as the “Whirlwind” or “Thunderbolt,” had struck again.
