Job 2. We left Job honourably acquitted upon a fair trial between God and Satan concerning him. Satan had leave to touch, to touch and take, all he had, and was confident that he would then curse God to his face; but, on the contrary, he blessed him, and so he was proved an honest man and Satan a false accuser.
Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary. 2:1-6. How well is it for us, that neither men nor devils are to be our judges! but all our judgment comes from the Lord, who never errs. Job holds fast his integrity still, as his weapon. God speaks with pleasure of the power of his own grace.
Job’s Health Is Destroyed. A. The second act of the heavenly scene. 1. (Job 2:1-3) God boasts again over His servant Job. Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.
29 Οκτ 2017 · KJV Job 2:6 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in [thine hand/your power]; [but/only] [save/spare/preserve] his life. So, God gives Job over to Satan for the destruction of his flesh. And he is allowed to destroy Job’s flesh only to the point where Job is still living.
Job holds fast his integrity still, as his weapon. God speaks with pleasure of the power of his own grace. Self-love and self-preservation are powerful in the hearts of men. But Satan accuses Job, representing him as wholly selfish, and minding nothing but his own ease and safety.
Verses 1-6. HAVING FAILED IN HIS FIRST TRIAL OF JOB, SATAN TRIES AGAIN GOD AGAIN GRANTED. SATAN PERMISSION TO AFFLICT JOB. "Again it came to pass on the day when the sons of God came to present themselves before Jehovah, that Satan came also among them to present himself before Jehovah.
