It was the coupons and the people treating the stores as a library that really did them in. I bought a ton of stuff at Borders, but always with at least a 20% coupon. Usually 30% off, if I recall. If I didn't have a coupon, I'd just buy online.

Borders was rumoured to open stores in Canada, starting with a 50,000-square-foot (4,600 m 2) retail store in Toronto. However, this was rejected for failing to meet Canadian ownership regulations for book retailers.
