The battle of Dak To (Vietnamese: Chiến dịch Đắk Tô - Tân Cảnh) in Vietnam was a series of major engagements of the Vietnam War that took place between 3 and 23 November 1967, [1] in Kon Tum Province, in the Central Highlands of the Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam).

The Americans reacted to the NVA buildup by launching Operation Mac-Arthur, with the 4th Infantry Division assuming operational control over the 173rd Airborne Brigade. The 4th Infantry Division’s 1st Bri-gade included the 1st, 2nd and 3rd bat-talions of the 8th Inf. Regt.; 1st and 3rd.
