My two real successes have been the Tarwebier and the Diabolo, both of which produced a beer that was of good alcohol content, relatively clear, with good flavours and which largely lacked the "homebrew" taste.

14 Ιουν 2013 · My experience of Brewferm kits is that some of the darker maltier beers benefit from adding dme. Other lighter styles I would prefer to brew with candi sugar (or golden syrup). When adding something like golden syrup you need to add more of it by weight to counteract the water present in it.
My fallback is ALWAYS a Brewferm kit. In my opinion (and listen to my opinion here - I have been a huge fan of Belgian beers for almost 40 years), they are far and away the best beer kits you will ever brew. The Abbey (Abdij) is a lovely dark, nutty, rounded, malty beer that is a typical Dubbel.
