1970 – First telescope launched into space onboard probe Uhuru. This was also first gamma-ray telescope ever to be used. 1990 – Hubble telescope launched into Earth’s orbit. It quickly became one of the most famous and most important telescopes ever to be built.
Built for the first time some 600 years ago, telescoped were initially hailed as one of the most important tools for sea fearers, and very quickly it became a pivotal tool of the astronomers who started exploring the night sky in search of answers.
