Surrounded by colorful coral reefs just off the coast of Manado in North Sulawesi is the island of Bunaken. It is one of the most popular dive sites in Indonesia. Shallow coral reefs stretching out like tentacles into the crystal clear waters surround the ocean.
In addition to its huge biodiversity Bunaken is also a place where rare and endangered animals can be found such as coelacanths, dugongs, whales and turtles, as well as dolphins. The park has a unique bathymetry, which is an attraction to tourists scuba diving at Bunaken Island.
