Reliable Digit Span (RDS) is a heavily researched symptom validity test with a recent literature review yielding more than 20 studies ranging in dates from 1994 to 2011. Unfortunately, limitations within some of the research minimize clinical generalizability.
5 Απρ 2018 · Reliable Digit Span. The primary dependent measure in this study is RDS. As mentioned, RDS is an embedded measure that is obtained from the Digit Span subtest and is calculated by summing the maximum number of digits forward with the maximum number of digits reversed when both trials have been passed (Greiffenstein et al., 1994).
The WAIS-IV Letter-Number Sequencing and Digit Span subtests are Supplemental measures in the Neuropsychological Impairment Domain Wilde et al. (2010). It is likely that a number of subtests will be recommended for use across domains that are important to TBI – i.e., working memory and information processing speed. Reviewers Skye McDonald
The Digit Span subtest requires test-takers to repeat strings of digits in forward order (forward digit span), as well as in reverse order (backward digit span). To calculate Reliable Digit Span, the maximum forward and backward span are summed, and scores below the cut-off point are associated with noncredible performance (Greiffenstein et al ...
Prior research has shown that cutoff scores of ≤6 or ≤7 on Reliable Digit Span (RDS) can detect suboptimal effort across numerous adult clinical populations; however, these scores have not been validated for that purpose in an adult epilepsy population.
