In California, students can apply for CADAA even if they do not have DACA status or a SSN as long as they meet the non-resident tuition exemption requirements. Students with DACA status should apply for CADAA instead of FAFSA.

The CA Dream Act Application is used to determine the California state financial eligibility of students who meet the qualifications of Assembly Bill 540 (AB 540), AB 130 and AB 131, AB 2000 and Senate Bill 68 (SB 68). The California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) will process this application.
Welcome. Completion of the California Dream Act Application is required to determine state financial aid for eligible California AB 540 students. Your application will be processed by the California Student Aid Commission.
1 Ιουλ 2019 · Students who live in California and meet the eligibility requirements for a non-resident exemption, as well as students who have a U Visa or TPS status, can use the California Dream Act application (CADAA). Similarly, students without Social Security Numbers or students who have lost DACA status (or never applied for DACA), may still be eligible.
When is the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) available? The online and paper application is available on October 1 for the next academic year. For faster processing time, CSAC recommends using the online application process.
