The CA CCSSM include two types of standards: Eight Mathematical Practice Standards (identical for each grade level) and Mathematical Content Standards (different at each grade level). Together these standards address both “habits of mind” that
Grade-specific K–12 standards in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and language translate the broad (and, for the earliest grades, seemingly distant) aims of the CCR standards into age- and attainment-appropriate terms.
The California English Language Development Standards correspond to California’s Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts (ELA) and, for grades 6–12, Literacy in History/Social Studies, Science, and Technical Subjects.
Standards with California additions appear with a “CA” notation at the end. For more information, see the College and Career Readiness Anchor Standards . These Standards were approved by the CA State Board of Education in 2010.
The California State Content Standards are designed to encourage the highest achievement of K–12 students by defining the knowledge, concepts, and skills students should acquire in each grade level.
