California kingsnakes are moderately sized snakes that don’t require a huge enclosure. Juveniles can be kept in the equivalent of a 10 gallon aquarium. By the time they are a year old you’ll need to move up in size to a 20 gallon. Adults will need to be housed in something closer to a 40 gallon.
