The islands – of which Cape Horn (or Isla Cabo Horno as it’s called locally) is the furthest flung – sit where The Brazil Current from the north meets the Antarctic Circumpolar Current coming in from the west.

Once there, climb across a rocky beach and up several flights of slippery steps to reach the top of the cliff.
Just travelling to Cape Horn is a priceless experience. Wether you chose to go by air or water, the landscapes are covered in green and skyblue, like no other place on Earth. The archipelagos just come together, giving the visitors a paradisiac view.
Note that only expedition ships with zodiacs will let you get ashore and visit the Cape. For example, check out the Australis ships that go between Punta Arenas and Ushuaia, and include a stop at Cape Horn if the weather permits.

Accessing Cape Horn National Park is only possible by sea or air. If you want to book a visit to the park, you have two options. You can book a cruise boat that navigates through the Beagle Channel or a helicopter or Twin-Otter aircraft ride, depending on the size of the group.
The Actual Cape Horn Island. The Horn Islands archipelago, as previously mentioned, lies within Chilean territorial waters and the Chilean Navy maintains a station on an island close to the real Cape Horn, but not on the island itself because it is so difficult to access.
