  3. You are eligible to apply for registration using the general registration pathway if you: were educated outside of one of the designated countries 1 and/or you are not currently licensed in good standing 2 in one of the designated countries.

  4. Before applying to the College, all internationally educated nurses (IENs) must first apply through the National Nursing Assessment Service (NNAS). NNAS is a national online application service developed by nursing regulatory bodies across Canada.

  5. Follow the instructions below to apply for registration with BCCNM as an Internationally Educated Nurse (IEN). Following BCCNM’s review of your completed application, you will receive an email with a list of required documents for you to provide in support of your application.

  6. Complete the Application Form. Collect the required documents, including documents confirming your identity and your education. Complete the online payment for the application process. Print the required secondary forms. Have your completed secondary forms and documents sent to NNAS.

  7. Once you meet the requirements for the province or territory in which you want to work, the next steps are to apply for a licence and write a licensing exam. Resources.
