23 Μαΐ 2020 · Shock from medical and traumatic conditions can result in organ injury and death. Limited data describe out‐of‐hospital treatment of shock. We sought to characterize adult out‐of‐hospital shock care in a national emergency medical services (EMS) cohort.
Shock in patients resuscitated after out of hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is associated with an increased risk of mortality. We sought to determine the associations between lactate level, mean arterial pressure (MAP), and vasopressor/inotrope doses with mortality.
BACKGROUND: As the field of Emergency Medicine grows worldwide, the importance of an Emergency Department Crash Cart (EDCC) has long been recognized. Yet, there is paucity of relevant peer-reviewed literature specifically discussing EDCCs or proposing detailed features for an EDCC suitable for both adult and pediatric patients. METHODS:
27 Μαρ 2021 · After adjustment for age, sex, ethnicity, education and baseline health status, the effect was a 10-fold risk of worsened health among hospitalised crash drivers and a 3-fold risk among non-hospitalised drivers compared with a control group.
TSYNOPSIS: T Head and spinal injuries commonly occur during motor vehicle crashes (MVCs). The goal of this clinical commentary is to discuss real-life versus simulated MVCs and to present clinical, biomechanical, and epidemiological evidence of MVC-related injury mechanisms.
This article reviews the current knowledge base on the timing and causes of deaths after trauma. The trimodal mortality model (immediate deaths, early deaths, and late deaths) is utilized as the early research describing trimodal distribution is discussed.
