Find up-to-date statistics on CA wildfires and CAL FIRE activity. We combine state and federal data to track the number of fires and acres burned in California.
The California Incident Data and Statistics (CalStats) Program is a statewide emergency incident data collection program that analyzes and distributes statistical information reported by fire departments throughout the state.
Fires occur throughout the State within CAL FIRE jurisdiction on a daily basis during fire season. However, the majority of those fires are contained quickly and no information will generally be provided on these incidents at this site if the fire burns less than 10 acres.
This page presents a snapshot of California fire losses reported through the National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS) in 2022. Also included is information about California fire departments and firefighter and home fire fatalities in 2024.
