The grants will help low- and moderate-income families make repairs or safety upgrades to their homes, replace manufactured homes, and provide down payment assistance for first-time buyers.
The New York State Affordable Housing Corporation (AHC) creates homeownership opportunities for low- and moderate-income families by providing grants to governmental, not-for-profit and charitable organizations to help subsidize the cost of newly constructed houses and the renovation of existing housing.

Funding under the Low-Income Housing Trust Fund is limited to $125,000 per unit. Project sponsors must ensure long-term (15-30 years) use by low and/or very low-income persons. Up to 10 percent of an HTF award can be used for a community service facility.
