What key competencies are necessary to lead as a CDO? How does the CDO role compare across higher education, non-profit, and corporate sectors?
First, we open-up the self-evident conceptualization of business management in contemporary management practices by comparing ancient and contemporary definitions of management.
The CDO orchestrates the digital transformation of the organisa-tion by supporting top-management in formulating and executing a dedicated digital transformation strategy as this C-level executive has specialised knowledge of about digital business models and leading projects in this field [15].
Executive summary. The Chief Data Officer is increasingly the C-suite’s solution to navigating today’s disruptive, dynamic, data-intensive world. It’s a bespoke role that must be tailored to the needs and culture of the business.
CDOs need to be business driven, networking focused and entrepreneurial to help drive offensive data strategies in their organizations.
