  2. The police academy requires that all police candidates pass the POWER test at the beginning of the training. Please see nationaltestingnetwork.com for the Power test requirements.

  3. Prerequisites. The applicant must pass every test to be considered for the program. The required performance to pass each test is based upon sex and age (decade). While the absolute performance is different for the 8 categories, the relative level of effort is identical for each age and sex group.

  4. Participants must live in Champaign and be at least 18 years of age to qualify for a Champaign Police Department seat at the Academy. Other Champaign County residents may register for the Community Police Academy by contacting their local Police Department.
