5 Ιουν 2023 · Currently, Willie Dixon’s Blues Heaven Foundation (2120 S. Michigan Avenue) is the only active blues Museum in Chicago. It is located at the historic Chess Records building, where you can tour the historic recording studio and see artifacts from Willie Dixon and Muddy Waters.
The Chicago Blues Museum is a cultural institution in Chicago, IL that celebrates the history and impact of blues music in the city. Through exhibits, artifacts, and interactive displays, the museum aims to educate visitors about the rich heritage of blues music in Chicago.
This historical landmark belonged to McKinley Morganfield, known professionally as Muddy Waters – the father of modern Chicago blues. Now his great-granddaughter, Chandra Cooper, plans to preserve the home and her family heritage.
The historic address, 2120 S. Michigan Ave, houses the only Blues Museum in Chicago, as well as the Blues Heaven Gallery where many photographers have displayed their work. We are open 12-4 Tuesday through Saturday, with tours every hour on the hour. The last tour begins at 3 PM.
