The Board of Nursing has thirteen members appointed by the Secretary, consisting of four advanced practice nurses, three nursing educator representatives, two registered nurses, one licensed practical nurse, one nursing administrator, one nurse and one public member.
Certified School Nurses in CPS are Registered Nurses who hold at least a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited college, a Professional Educator License through ISBE (endorsed as a School Nurse) and a Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate.
