Friends of China Camp (FOCC) operates China Camp State Park under contract with the California Department of Parks and Recreation. FOCC is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Membership fees and donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
Though there were once more than two dozen shrimping camps like China Camp located around San Francisco and San Pablo Bays, this state park preserves the only one as a historic site, providing a unique opportunity to learn more about this important period. China Camp’s location on the shores of San Pablo Bay were ideally suited for shrimping.
Campers can choose from 33 spacious walk-in, tent-only sites. Glade Sites (1-15) are on the south side of the campground, accessed via a fairly flat trail heading slightly left from the parking lot. Hill Sites (16-30) are reached via a short, sloping path, heading right from the parking lot.
22 Οκτ 2021 · You can easily plot your hike by using the map below: As you can see in the map, there are 2 main multi-use trails: The Shoreline Trail follows the shoreline of China Camp (highlighted in neon green). The Bay View / Oak Ridge Trail traverses the deeper region of the park (highlighted in periwinkle). Here are a few of our favorite China Camp hikes:
China Camp State Park is a destination for hikers, mountain bikers, families, and history lovers. Tucked in San Pablo Bay, the park offers expansive waterfront views and miles of diverse trails. The park is also home to a diversity of wildlife, such as deer and turkeys.
3 ημέρες πριν · Visitors can enjoy wildlife-watching, mountain biking, hiking, picnicking, horseback riding, swimming, boating (small vessels) and windsurfing at the park. Undeveloped boat launch areas are available at Bullhead Flat and lower China Camp Village. Easy access is tide dependent.
