11 Μαΐ 2019 · It might surprise some Christians to learn that the excerpt from the Annunciation narrative above comes not from the Gospel of Luke but the Qur’an, the holy book of Islam.
“All true holiness comes from God, who is called ‘The Holy One’ in the sacred books of the Jews, Christians, and Muslims. Your holy Qur’an calls God ‘Al-Quddus,’ as in the verse: ‘He is God, besides whom there is no other, the Sovereign, the Holy, the (source of) Peace’ (Qur’an 59, 23).

So, the Qur'an is the Holy book for Muslims and as we know it was written in Arabic, it was written in Arabic, because that was the language that Mohammed spoke when the angel Gabriel revealed himself in 609 CE. And remember that Muslims believe that the Qur'an is the direct word from God passed on by the angel Gabriel to Mohammed.

The Quran states that several prior writings constitute holy books given by God to the prophets and messengers amongst the Children of Israel, in the same way the Quran was revealed to Muhammad.
