The Kuala Lumpur City Exhibition Hall is located behind the big flagpole of Merdeka Square. It was transformed from the original Kuala Lumpur Memorial Library. This British colonial building built in 1899 used to be the printing office of the British government.

It now houses a small but interesting exhibition on Kuala Lumpur's history on the ground floor, as well as a gift shop and cafe. Upstairs there's a large scale model of KL (including new buildings yet to be constructed) that is illuminated in a small sound and light show.
