The city of Portland, Maine has a robust system of parks, trails, and open spaces — 67 parks spanning an impressive 721 acres. Our parks are as diverse as they are impressive with nature walks, sports fields, bike trails, beaches, boat launches, playgrounds, picnic grounds, and concert venues accessible to all locals and visitors.

The Portland Parks Commission (PC)1 is required to submit an annual report to the city council regarding the state of the citys parks and public grounds and make specific recommendations therein about suggested goals and improvements for the parks and public grounds per City Code (Sec. 18-10(d)(4)).
