12 Μαΐ 2017 · This document discusses the design of removable partial dentures. It begins by classifying partially edentulous jaws using Kennedy's classification system. It then covers the basic considerations in design such as biomechanics, types of supports, and biological factors.
11 Δεκ 2016 · Kennedy class III RPD is supported by abutments only (teeth or implants) anterior and posterior to the edentulous space. This class does not tend to move or rotate in function. It is considered the most stable RPD:
11 Μαΐ 2020 · RPI system – minor connector on mesial rest of tooth prevents excessive distal movement. Bracing = general resistance to lateral movements exerted on the denture by tissues: Maxilla – palate and alveolar ridge can be taken advantage of ; Flatter ridge = more movement
Removable partial denture (RPD): A partial denture that can be removed and replaced in the mouth by the patient. esthetics, mastication, occlusal support and convenience. conditioning of the patient to accept the final prosthesis. Abutment: A tooth that supports a partial denture. Treatment Objectives.
CLASS III - Unilateral or Bilateral Edentulous Area(s) Bounded by Remaining Tooth/Teeth CLASS IV - Single Edentulous Area Anterior to Remaining Teeth and Crossing the Midline Note: The U of M follows this classification system and uses the rules proposed by Dr. O.C. Applegate for applying the system. KENNEDY CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM RULES
Two T bars are required for maxillary base. Under the “Sculpt Toolkit,” select “Attachment.” Select the following “Attachment Settings”: Place the bar between the first and second premolars and 3mm below the gingival line. Select the green arrow icon to place the T-bars.
The Class I type and the distal extension side of the Class II type derive their primary support from the tissue underlying the base and secondary support from the abutment teeth. (A) Kennedy Class III, mod 1, partially edentulous arch, which provides total tooth support for prosthesis.
