6 Οκτ 2014 · I to used to think that the Colt rock grip's were only found on the 1940 gun's in the serial number range given in the Clawson book . But over the years by looking at many and owning many 1940 CSR guns I have found that they were used all thru 1940 from very early to very late 1940 production .

25 Δεκ 2005 · The grip (or probably more proper, the stock) on the left is the early Coltrock found on only a few pistols in the 719000 serial number range. The stock on the right is the later Coltwood with a mold number. The number on the grip shown is an upside down 4.
8 Ιουλ 2017 · Got a couple of question about a Colt made 1911a1 that I was given a few years ago. The serial number is 728xxx, this I am told dates it to 1943. My questions are- would this have left the factory with wood or plastic grips? And the magazine has a half blued finish half way up.
