7 Σεπ 2021 · In this article, I will explain how we use computer simulations in the world of structural biology to study the structure and function of molecules. I will also describe how I think that we could use insights from the world of biology and computer simulations to advance the society that we live in.
6 Μαΐ 2013 · In its narrowest sense, a computer simulation is a program that is run on a computer and that uses step-by-step methods to explore the approximate behavior of a mathematical model. Usually this is a model of a real-world system (although the system in question might be an imaginary or hypothetical one).
It involves the development of computational mathematical and data-analytical methods for modeling and simulating biological structures. It focuses on the anatomical structures being imaged, rather than the medical imaging devices.
By using computer simulations, scientists can analyze the effects of specific interventions or conservation strategies on ecosystem health and biodiversity. They help in understanding non-linear interactions in ecosystems, where small changes can lead to significant and unexpected effects.
10 Ιαν 2012 · Computer simulations are excellent tools for understanding the evolutionary and genetic consequences of complex processes whose interactions cannot be analytically predicted.
