To obtain a Montana concealed weapon permit, a person must: have been a Montana resident for at least six (6) months; be a U.S. citizen or permanent lawful resident of the U.S.; and. be at least eighteen (18) years old. Concealed weapon permit applications are available from the local sheriff’s office.
