If the condensate lines travel off the service platform and disappear in the insulation, that’s fine. But you still need to confirm to yourself that the ENTIRE drain line has at least, an eighth-inch slope to it.
The IMC dictates a 1% minimum pitch of the drain, equal to 1/8″ fall for every 12″ (foot) of horizontal run. In practice, it is safer to use 1/4″ of fall per foot to ensure proper drainage and provide some wiggle room for error.
Condensate on the condensate drain line can lead to mold growth or or building damage on nearby building materials. Freezing condensate drain lines risk burst piping, leaks into the building, or shut-down of or condensate backup at the HVAC equipment.
