Term limits at the federal level are restricted to the executive branch and some agencies. The U.S. Congress, however, remains without electoral limits. State term limits. Term limits for state governors or others within the state executive branch and other high constitutional offices have existed since the beginning of the United States.
19 Σεπ 2023 · Term limits for members of Congress are widely popular with both Republicans and Republican-leaning independents (90%) and Democrats and Democratic leaners (86%). Establishing age limits for elected officials in Washington, D.C., also draws broad bipartisan support.
