30 Σεπ 2017 · The only thing that you need to do is to install the Guest Additions. Then run "dxdiag", "Display" tab, look at the "Drivers". If it says "VBoxDispD3D.dll", it's installed. If it doesn't work for some things, it's because it's not a real graphics card, it's a virtualized one. Moving to "Windows Guests" from "OSX Hosts".

Said transparency effects have not worked properly for Windows Guests in Virtual Box, using the accelerated vboxsvga vGPU for some time. See - https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/19365. Try turning off 3d acceleration in the VM settings. Not sure about 7, but my performance ranks when I have that turned on with 10.

If you click the Start orb and type Aero in the search box, you will see "Find and fix problems with transparency."
After updating VirtualBox to version 7, the Windows Aero interface has ceased working in Windows 7 installed in a virtual machine. This happens despite the fact that VirtualBox Guest Additions has been installed.
