15 Ιουν 2022 · Cottonwood is a decent option for firewood because it splits and burns cleanly when adequately seasoned. It’s also an easy-to-find option because of its widespread availability. Since cottonwood trees are so large, there’s often an abundance of wood that must be cleared away.
Cottonwood is moderately good for firewood because it is a hard wood that splits easily when seasoned properly, burns relatively clean and produces a fair amount of heat. They are difficult to split when green and if not seasoned properly give off a very unpleasant aroma.
