25 Ιουν 2007 · Crystal Crag is easily seen from almost any point within the Mammoth Lakes basin. Its rocky form tops out at 10,364ft. There are a number of climbing options available.
Crystal Crag is a 10,377-foot-elevation (3,163 meter) summit located in the Sierra Nevada mountain range in Mono County of northern California, United States. [4] This photogenic landmark, popular with rock climbers, [6] is situated approximately three miles south of the community of Mammoth Lakes, on land managed by Inyo National Forest.
Crystal Crag is the obvious rock tower that juts out of the Mammoth Lakes area south of Yosemite. From the east, it looks like a huge, solitary granite tooth. The east and north sides of the peak present some challenging rock climbs, while the west and south sides offer slightly easier routes to the summit.
This hike is three miles round trip with a decent amount of uphill, but it takes you to the bottom of an epic crag that overlooks multiple lakes and has its own lake right at the base. Here is all the information so you can take this hike yourself.
