25 Απρ 2019 · Z-index is a CSS property that allows you to position elements in layers on top of one another. It’s super useful, and honestly a very important tool to know how to use in CSS. Unfortunately, z-index is one of those properties that doesn’t always behave in an intuitive way.
The z-index Property. When elements are positioned, they can overlap other elements. The z-index property specifies the stack order of an element (which element should be placed in front of, or behind, the others). An element can have a positive or negative stack order:
20 Σεπ 2022 · Without any z-index value, elements stack in the order that they appear in the DOM (the lowest one down at the same hierarchy level appears on top). Elements with non-static positioning will always appear on top of elements with default static positioning.
