Isotretinoin is a form of vitamin A that is used to treat severe nodular acne that has not responded to other treatments, including antibiotics. Isotretinoin is available only from a certified pharmacy under a special program called iPLEDGE.
How to take it. Swallow the capsules whole with a drink of water. Take isotretinoin capsules with food to make sure they work properly. It's best to take them straight after a meal or snack. How long to take it for. A treatment course of isotretinoin capsules usually lasts for 16 to 24 weeks (around 4 to 6 months).
curacne is available in capsules of 10mg, 20mg and 40mg. The recommended starting dose is 0.5-1mg/kg per day for the first four months and should be adjusted according to response. For most patients, the initial dose of 20mg per day is usually sufficient however some might require higher doses.

This medication is used to treat severe cystic acne (also known as nodular acne) that has not responded to other treatment (e.g., benzoyl peroxide or clindamycin applied to the skin or tetracycline or minocycline taken by mouth). It belongs to a class of drugs known as retinoids.
Decreased efficacy of microdosed progesterone (use 2 forms of contraception). May increase risk of bone loss with phenytoin. May increase risk of osteoporosis with systemic corticosteroids.
