David Bliss Cloud (August 3, 1956 – February 18, 2015) was an American musician, singer, songwriter, storyteller and occasional actor. Cloud was known foremost for his amusing earthy concert performances and garage rock recordings with his band The Gospel of Power.
On February 18, 2015 Dave Cloud died in Nashville of complications related to melanoma. He was 58.

In 1973, when he was 23 years old and living a “hippie” lifestyle, having hitchhiked across America, sold drugs, and joined a Hindu meditation society, Brother Cloud was saved by the marvelous grace of Jesus Christ.
While Cloud maintained a busy performing schedule in the 2010s, his health began to fail him, and on February 18, 2015, he died in a Nashville hospital due to complications related to melanoma. Five months after his passing, Fire released Cloud’s final album, ‘Today Is The Day That They Take Me Away’.
