  4. 13 Σεπ 2021 · Dead Horse Ranch has five campground loops. The Upper Campgrounds (Red-Tail Hawk Loop, Cooper’s Hawk Loop, and Blackhawk Loop) have a combined 127 campsites while the Lower Campgrounds (Quail Loop and Raven Loop) have a combined 68 campsites.

  5. 3 Δεκ 2022 · This is an excellent State Park with ponds for fishing and access to the Verde River. Many hiking trails, horseback riding available. Stayed at the Blackhawk loop campground. Spaces are well payed out with plenty of room even for big rigs.

Dead Horse Ranch State Park campground is adjacent to the Verde River and has 4 loops with 127 campsites for tents, trailers and RVs (100 large sites with water/electric hookups). There is also a 23-site group area (Raven Loop 201 to 223), and 8 cabins to rent. Campsites 111 to 127 are tent only.

Campground Overview: The story of the park’s name begins with the Ireys family, who came to Arizona from Minnesota looking for a ranch to buy in the late 1940s. At one of the ranches they discovered a large dead horse lying by the road.
