Deer hunting licence applications (S29 of the Wildlife Acts) for the 2024/2025 deer hunting season can now be made online by visiting: portal.heritage.gov.ie. PLEASE NOTE: When uploading your Firearms Certificate, you are required to upload both the front and back of the certificate.
The National Parks & Wildlife Service are launching a new online portal for deer hunting licence applications for the 2024/25 Open Season, this will replace paper and email applications.
The open season for deer hunting (see below) in Ireland changes from year to year depending on the location and species of deer. Landowners can apply for a Section 42 licence to control deer outside of open hunting season if the deer are causing damage.
The National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) have confirmed applications for Deer Hunting Licences (DHL) for the 2021/2022 season, under Section 29 (1) of the Wildlife Act 1976 to 2018, are now available online via the NPWS website. The following documents can now be accessed:
4 Ιουν 2024 · Applications for a deer hunting licence for the coming season can now be submitted to the NPWS through a new heritage licensing portal. Those applying for a deer hunting licence for the 2024/2025 season will be the first group to avail of the new online system.
