Through this dialogue, several policy options were identified to reform the existing Medicare enrollment process that would facilitate a beneficiary-centered experience and improve decision-making before, during, and after the Initial Enrollment Period.
If you’re enrolling in Medicare for the first time, you can sign up during the 7-month period that: Begins 3 months before the month you turn 65. Includes the month you turn 65. Ends 3 months after the month you turn 65. During this time, you may enroll in Part A, Part B, or both.
