1 Ιαν 2012 · The regional governing systems are analyzed from a centralized versus a decentralized perspective or radical structural changes versus marginal accommodation. In this chapter I provide a brief review of the literature of arguments by those supporting centralized and decentralized governing systems.
Regionalism and regional governance are not simply a response to security, functional, and economic needs. Regionalism is a fundamentally political exercise that takes place in a context of conflict and cooperation, so that we should also be aware of the political aspects of regional governance.19
