The state short-term rental lodging tax is 4.5% of the rent upon every occupancy of a short-term rental within this State. Rent does not include municipal taxes, linen rental fees, cleaning fees, insurance fees, security deposits, other add-on fees not usually considered part of the rent, and money received from a month-to-month holdover leases.

17 Ιουλ 2024 · Effective January 1, 2025, any short-term rental agreement signed after that date will be subject to a State Rental Tax of 4.5% of the rent (other fees are not taxed). This tax will be in addition to any local municipality tax on rentals, and it also gives the county the ability to impose a rental tax of up to 3%.
The report includes the estimated total tax rate to collect from guests, number of required registrations, number and frequency of returns per year, and minimum number of rented days to qualify as a taxable stay. It should be noted that tax rates and the rules governing them change frequently.
25 Απρ 2024 · House Bill 168, which is awaiting a vote on the House floor after passing a committee vote last year, would apply the state’s 8% lodging tax to short-term rentals (STRs), such as those found on Airbnb, VRBO, Vacasa or through local agencies.
