Deontology emphasizes the importance of following certain rules or principles no matter what favorable outcomes may be produced along the way.

24 Ιουν 2022 · In two studies (a European student sample and a North American MTurk sample, total N = 789), we show that the new factual dilemmas were perceived to be more realistic and less absurd than commonly used dilemmas. In addition, factual dilemmas induced higher participant engagement.
Recent examples include Uber, where a toxic work environment was allowed to prevail, and Volkswagen, which knowingly misrepresented the emissions level of its cars. Such examples exist in government as well, as the recent Theranos and “Fat Leonard” scandals confirm.
