For those of you who use monitor arms, do you clamp them to the edge of your desk or do you attach it through a grommet hole? I've never used a monitor arm before and am thinking of getting one.

Perhaps instead of marring the top of your desk, you could make a wedge to place against the edge of the desk and screw it to a paint stirrer or some other thin wood. That would give you a square surface to attach your monitor mount to without cutting into the top.
I have a bamboo desktop on my Uplift desk and it gets scratched/dented extremely easily. Dropping something hard on it, like an HDMI cable, from basically any height results in an dent. So I’m assuming my monitor arm clamp will do a number on it. Does anyone have a solution for this problem?
