9 Ιουν 2022 · The Desktop.ini file is a hidden configuration file found in every folder on Microsoft Windows (including Vista and Windows 10/11). Each Desktop.ini file contains the configuration settings for that folder. The Desktop.ini file is not visible by default as it’s a protected operating system file.

Right now the files on the desktop are located in C:\Users\Joseph\Desktop. So when I go to that folder in Windows Explorer and create a new text document, it would appear on my desktop. What I need is something like this: I want the files on my desktop to be in another folder (let's say C:\Desktop). Is this possible?
25 Οκτ 2018 · Open File Explorer from the taskbar. Select View > Options > Change folder and search options. Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK. Your user settings are stored in many places throughout Windows.

17 Ιαν 2022 · Rest assured, that file is not malware, Settings.ini usually contains settings for some portable application installed in the same folder as that file appears. Right click that Settings.ini file and choose Open With, then select Notepad.
