RFC 3046 defines the DHCP Relay Agent Information Option (Option 82) to record the location of a DHCP client. A DHCP snooping-enabled device or a DHCP relay agent adds Option 82 to a DHCP request message to send the accurate location of a DHCP client to the DHCP server.
30 Ιαν 2009 · To solve this problem, a relay agent residing at the switch inserts the relay information option (option 82), which carries information specific to the port I don't know the field being used. I guess the only way to find out is to sniff the packet.
