Diane Bou Khalil is a writer with a passion for storytelling, art, and fostering community connections. She is the marketing and engagement manager for Borderless Magazine, an award-winning immigration news outlet, and teaches journalism at After School Matters, a nonprofit serving Chicago teens.
Diane was Borderless Magazine’s first pathway intern before joining the team as an engagement reporter. Diane has also worked as a journalism instructor with After School Matters and the World Relief refugee agency.
Diane Bou Khalil is the community engagement reporter for Borderless Magazine, an award-winning immigration news outlet. Her passion for storytelling is tied to her interest in human-centered stories and community connections.
Bou Khalil was born in Chicago but spent most of her life in Lebanon. She’s the eldest of three and was determined to attend college in the United States. “In 10th or 11th grade, I visited NEIU,” Bou Khalil said. “I got to know the University by doing more research online and I really liked it.”
