7 Μαρ 2023 · Yes, postseason stats do count in career stats in Major League Baseball (MLB). All postseason games, including the Wild Card game, Division Series, League Championship Series, and World Series, are counted as part of a player’s career statistics.
I understand seperating postseason and regular season stats, mainly for seeing how effective a player is in postseason play. But my real question is why can't hits, hr, strikeouts, wins, etc add to a players career total?
If you count playoff stats, then guys like Trout are getting screwed out of games he never has a chance to play which isn't his fault. If you're going to pad your stats, then players have even more reason to go to LA and NY to make sure they make the playoffs for their career stats.
21 Σεπ 2022 · The postseason homers need to be recognized in career totals somehow as they definitely happened. For fairness, don't just squeeze them into regular season totals without specifying the differences. This is already done though really.
