6 Ιουν 2008 · I recently purchased a 2001 Chrysler Sabering with the 2.7 DOHC V6. I researched this engine after the purchase to find a lot of info regarding premature engine failures related to oil sludging. This car has 117000 miles on it, and I am looking for a recommendation of oil.
18 Απρ 2005 · From reading all the posts on the "sludge" issue causing premature engine failure on the 2.7, it appears to me that this was fixed starting in model year 2001. I don't see the problem on 2001 and up? Am I correct, or are there the same failures on the 2001-2005 2.7 engines?
3 Μαρ 2007 · Replaced the oil using Castrol High Mileage Oil and a PH16 Fram Oil filter. I will run the engine for 500 miles and replace the filter and oil as described above. Now for the " FIX "!
16 Νοε 2020 · Some sludge issues may have been from the internal water pump beginning to leak. If the water pump let loose, it would dump coolant into the crankcase and jump the chain, possibly crashing valves. The later ones were much improved and I would not hesitate to own one.
25 Ιουν 2009 · I was reading all of the bad press about the 1998-2003 Dodge Interpid 2.7 liter engines literally "blowing up" due to oil sludge buildup (Volkwagon and Toyota have had similar sludge buildup problems).
7 Ιαν 2013 · I have a 2002 dodge ram 4.7. When I open the oil filler cap it is filled with white crap, sludge I guess. I always change my oil every 5000 kms. Just wondering if anybody else had this problem, and what I can do to fix it? I am going to remove the PCV valve and clean or replace it.
