This document is about the development of clinical nutrition guidelines and the importance of summaries of these for patients as well as the need for patient involvement in the development processes, the importance of health literacy and informed decision-making concerning food and nutrition.
1 Σεπ 2023 · In the current guideline, the timing, route, dose and composition of nutrition will be discussed and recommendations will be made recognizing that acute metabolic changes as well as prolonged energy and protein deficits play a major role in patient outcome.
It is hypothesised that most recommendations for clinical nutrition therapy are supported by low-quality evidence. The pri-mary aim of this study was to evaluate the quality of evidence supporting the 2019 ESPEN and 2016 ASPEN recommendations for medical nutrition therapy in critically ill patients.
